PFAS Investigation and High Resolution Site Characterization

A former industrial property in Massachusetts was impacting nearby drinking water wells with per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). To support ongoing site investigation efforts, the project team needed a clearer understanding of groundwater flow patterns, subsurface conditions, and PFAS migration pathways in order to accurately delineate the plume and support future site management decisions.
Cascade implemented an integrated high-resolution characterization program that included:
  • Advanced Groundwater Profiling – Used the WaterlooAPS™ system to collect groundwater samples and hydraulic conductivity data across multiple depths.
  • Targeted PFAS Investigation – Defined contaminant distribution and migration patterns throughout the site.
  • Adaptive Characterization Strategy – Execution of multiple mobilizations over 1.5 years to support evolving investigation objectives.
