William (Brad) Carlson

Technical Expert, Site Characterization

Brad Carlson is a Senior Technical HRSC Specialist at Cascade, and has more than 20 years of experience in environmental field services. He was one of the visionary early adopters of high resolution site characterization (HRSC) technology, and has collected data for project sites that include former gas stations, dry cleaners, chemical manufacturing plants, refineries, and more. Brad has extensive experience using this data to generate highly accurate conceptual site models (CSMs) for clients developing their remediation plans.

Brad utilizes technologies like the Membrane Interface Probe (MIP), Hydraulic Profiling Tool (HPT), the combined MIHPT unit, Ultra-Violet Optical Screening Tool (UVOST), and the Electrical Conductivity (EC) and Optical Image Profiler (OIP) to collect downhole HRSC data. He also is proficient with computer modeling software to support 3D imaging of HRSC data, including Rockworks, MVS and EVS. His real value, however, is his ability to process and interpret incoming data in real-time. This provides his clients the opportunity to continuously optimize their remedial approach.

Having worked on hundreds of sites across the US, Brad offers a unique perspective on development and implementation of HRSC dynamic work plans. He is also well versed in the evaluation of HRSC contaminant data as it relates to soil and hydraulic conditions. Brad can help your organization realize their value expectations by providing higher resolution understanding of contaminant mass distribution at project sites.
