Becoming an Employer of Choice – The Cascade Focus
Aug 13, 2018 -
What does it mean to be an “Employer of Choice”? At Cascade Environmental, we believe that by heavily focusing on our greatest asset – our employees – and by soliciting feedback to implement solutions, we build the pathway to becoming the Employer of Choice in the Environmental industry.
First and foremost is Cascade’s focus on the health and safety of our employees. To mitigate the costs associated with high insurance deductibles, co-pays and out-of-pocket maximums with health insurance premiums, Cascade has taken a proactive stance on wellness. Through our wellness approach, we offer programs such as smoking cessation, stress management, pre/post-natal care, weight management, gym membership discounts, and much more. To take this a step further, Cascade has also implemented a jobsite flex and stretch initiative to reduce potential workplace injuries. We work with our employees to encourage wellness and preventative health care, not only to lower the costs associated with premiums but to encourage our employees to take proactive ownership over their own health.
Secondly, it is a well-known fact that most people don’t quit their jobs – they quit their boss. For this reason, Cascade has taken a heightened interest in ensuring our management teams across the nation have the absolute best training and resources available to be successful leaders. We believe in investing in the training of our staff at all levels. While field personnel are given the training and resources to tackle safety, rig operation, and other critical components of day-to-day operations, Cascade is working hard to ensure we provide a fully developed training program for management personnel as well. This training program will include an enhanced focus on soft skills training, safety, team building, internal communication, employee relations, and general leadership skills.
Last but not least is our belief in career progression. To become the Employer of Choice, a critical focus is on the manner in which our staff grows professionally at Cascade. We strive to demonstrate the uniqueness of our industry and encourage anyone interested in being a part of the Cascade team to always focus on the next step. Our career progression pathways clearly show how anyone can take a job at Cascade and turn it into a very rewarding and fulfilling career. Additionally, as a show of our commitment to see our team members grow and progress in their careers, Cascade offers a generous Tuition Reimbursement program. There’s a reason why Cascade’s number one source of hires is employee referrals – we truly value our people and strive every day to make Cascade a great company to call home!
