Project Highlight: Stormwater Controls and Site Stabilization in Matawan

Environmental Construction

Severe flooding at a commercial site and adjacent roadway in Matawan, NJ was disrupting operations and creating safety hazards. Ransom Consulting turned to Cascade for a complete stormwater and site stabilization solution tailored to the unique challenges of the site.

Working under a tight timeline, Cascade implemented an integrated approach that included:

  • Sheet Pile Installation – 175 LF of 30-foot sheet pile, installed using a hydraulic vibrating hammer to provide essential earth support.
  • Stormwater System Construction – 300 LF of 24" HDPE pipe, plus precast manholes and doghouses to improve drainage performance.
  • Structural Enhancements – A 12" concrete slab and 200 LF of curbing to reinforce surface integrity and prevent future erosion.
  • Site Stabilization – Groundwater dewatering, milling, regrading, and installation of an 80,000-square-foot asphalt cap for long-term protection.
