FluxSorb™ IS is an injectable colloidal carbon product (CCP) designed to target difficult-to-treat contaminants like chlorinated volatile organic compounds (CVOCs), benzene/toluene/ethylbenzene/xylenes (BTEX), per and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), and other pollutants. It is manufactured exclusively for Cascade by FluxSorb Technologies, an affiliate of ADA Carbon Solutions, the leading provider of activated carbon in North America.
Activated carbon is a class of adsorbent materials that have irregular, amorphous carbon atom structure and a high surface area. The form of the activated carbon can range from granular to powdered to colloidal, depending on the required end-use application.
FluxSorb™ IS is an activated CCP consisting of low micron size particles, which allow for effective delivery and distribution within the subsurface. Once injected, the particles demobilize and create an effective treatment zone for contact with the contaminated groundwater plume. As the water flows, contaminants are captured within activated carbon pores, where their concentrations are reduced through sequestration, destruction, biodegradation, and/or neutralization.
